Dear Diary: Sometimes I’m A Part-Time Player

There was a goal I wanted to yesterday…but I didn’t. I got lazy and let it ride. I normally don’t do that you know…take off on a play. But yesterday I did. And when the day was over and that goal remained unchecked I thought about why I sometimes take plays off.

I usually don’t take plays off.

I’m normally a goal seeking animal. I could say to myself, “Self…you may not accomplish every goal you set — no one does — but what really matters is having goals and going after them wholeheartedly.” Like I said…I could say that. But the truth of the matter is…Diddy doesn’t take off plays. Jigga Man doesn’t take of plays. Weezy and Birdman don’t take off plays. So…I gotta be more consistent in getting what I set out to do.

No more plays off.

Today…I will re-read the 13th sentence of this diary entry until I feel like the person who makes a success of living is the one who sees his goal steadily and aims for it unswervingly. Today…I will act like I know that the difference between try and triumph is a little umph. Today…

I won’t be playing.
