Im going to say the same thing I said on another post about this. What African American’s chose to embrace as a way of coping and turning yet another thing that was made to be negative positive, still does not give permission for the culture whom used it to be negative to take it as a “bonding” moment and say it as well. It has been permanently engraved in our spirits no matter how far it was in the past and probably will NEVER be removed and it stings still now as it did then. Is every white person eating chitterlings like black people still do today, which is killing our culture due to Hypertension? No one is quick to jump on board for that, even though that is something that we used, due to the lack thereof of our past to eat, making it something good that was meant to be demeaning.
