Usher Tapped To Play Sugar Ray Leonard In New Film

Usher Raymond stretches his acting chops playing boxer Sugar Ray Leonard in a new film.

Usher has been cast as Sugar Ray Leonard in the new bio-pic ‘Hands of Stone’ about Panamanian boxer Roberto Duran. In June 1980 Roberto Duran took the WBC Welterweight title from Sugar Ray in a 15-round unanimous decision.

At the rematch in November Roberto inexplicably stopped the fight in the 7th round uttering famously, “No mas. No mas.” ‘Hands of Stone’, featuring Robert DeNiro as trainer Ray Arcel, begins filming later this year.
