And now…here’s what happened when Wayne got snubbed a couple weeks ago by OKC:
As previously reported, Weezy planned to go see OKC Thunder take on the San Antonio Spurs in the Western Conference finals, but was denied entry into the Oklahoma City arena. The officials wouldn’t let the rapper sit courtside, nor would they allow him to enter from anywhere other than the main entrance. This would have posed security risks not only to Weezy but also to fans.
Now, Lil Wayne claims that he believes his snub may have been racially motivated. The Hollywood Reporter says that Wayne felt “unwanted” at the game. Aww, Weezy! However, some people did want him there: the OKC Thunder’s players actually offered him tickets, but he declined.
“We’d have loved to have him here in Oklahoma City,” Thunder player Kevin Durant said. “We’d have welcomed him with open arms. Hopefully, we get past that and next time he can come and enjoy a game.”
Though Wayne appreciated the offer from Durant and his teammates, he was operating on principle. “That’s not the point,” Wayne said. “It’s the players stepping up but of course the players aren’t white. I don’t want to be sitting there on behalf of you and I’m sitting next to a (person) that’s like ‘I don’t want this (guy) sitting next to me.’ (Forget) you … I’m in Forbes.”

At the end of the day, both OKC and the Spurs reflect smaller, mostly white fan bases. They don’t need Wayne’s prescence to sell tickets, like the Lakers, Knicks or Heat. They understand that the fans in these towns dont mix sports and entertainment, like they have to in bigger markets. Plus, wayne coulda got free seating and hot dogs at ANY New Orleans Hornets game. #bandwagon………

That’s ridiculous. It’s got nothing to do with race. He didn’t have a ticket. The place was sold out. There are plenty of celebrities there not going through special parking and special entrances. Nobody in Oklahoma cares who anybody is. There were big stars walking around all weekend and they just didn’t get bothered.
