The Brooklyn Nets have yet to play a game in the NBA but it seems like all the hype is surrounding them because word on the street is they’re trying to acquire Joe Johnson, Dwight Howard & re-signing Deron Williams.

The Brooklyn Nets & the Atlanta Hawks are in talks about a multiplayer deal for the Nets to acquire Joe Johnson. According to ESPN, “Sources say, the Nets, furthermore will only go ahead with this trade if they know that it helps convince Deron Williams.” Deron Williams is this year’s No.1 free agent prospect & is said to have had meetings with both the Nets and the Dallas Mavericks. The Nets can offer Williams a five-year deal worth nearly $100 million while the Mavericks can only counter with a four- year deal in the $75 million range but will try to sell Williams the idea of playing for his hometown & also teaming with Dirk Nowitzki & the Mavs who’ve won a championship.
The other star player that is allegedly looking foward to playing for the Brooklyn Nets is Orlando Magic’s superstar Dwight Howard. According to sources close to the situation, Dwight Howard met with the GM of the Magics & clearly expressed that he wanted to be traded to the Brooklyn Nets. Dwight Howard was quoted in the media as saying,”There’s only one team on my list and if I don’t get traded there, I’ll play out the season and explore my free agency after that”.
Although he did not say what team it was, everyone believes he’s talking about the Nets, however I read recently that Magic Johnson is talking to the Lakers & trying to set up a meeting with Dwight in hopes of having him join them. But all we can do is wait & see if the Nets can pull something off & acquire all three great players or where Dwight will ultimately end up.
