For the first time, Ross talks about his past life as a corrections officer.

“This was an opportunity, he says, to “wash my hands” after his best friend was sentenced to 10 years for trafficking cocaine and heroin. This was my best friend, who I ate peanut-butter-and-jelly sandwiches with, and pork and beans with, my buddy, my partner, my number-one dude. Suddenly I’m talking to him over federal phone calls. Hearing the way it was building, I knew I couldn’t take nothing for granted,” says Ross. “My homey’s father was a huge influence on my life, too . . . He was the one who was like, ‘Yo, go get a job somewhere, man. Go be a fireman. Or go be a fucking corrections officer. Just go sit down somewhere.”

I was born in the 80′s and a teen in the 90′s. Those of us born in that time hold ” Gangster Rappers” to a specfic standard, and being cop(of any sort) just isn’t it. Don’t get me wrong, dude is a alright rapper, but from the era I came from I just don’t buy what he is selling.
The thing is that this shit is all for entertainment, everybody with some sense knows that hardly any of theses rappers do what they say in there lyrics and the one who did well we all know where they are. Does any body question what Sylvester Stallone did before being a actor. It shouldn’t be a scandal cause a black man had a job before he became an entertainer.
