In an unprecedented turn of events, the punishment doled out by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell to current and former members of the New Orleans Saints for their alleged participation in a bounty program has been blocked.
Reports The Urban Daily:
Saints player Jonathan Vilma, the most vocal opponent of Goodell’s decision, due to sit out the entire year appealed the ruling and now a court has sided with Vilma and the other players.
The decision means Vilma, Will Smith, Scott Fujita (now a member of the Cleveland Browns), and free agent Mike Hargrove can play this Sunay if they are put on the roster. Saints coach Sean Payton (suspended the entire season) general manager Mickey Loomis (suspended 8 games), and interim coach Joe Vitt (suspended 6 games) is unaffected by the ruling.
