Grammy-winning rapper Lupe Fiasco has fired back at recent comments made by comedian D.L. Hughley over his resistance to take part in the upcoming presidential election.

Fiasco resorted to his Twitter page and attempted to explain why President Obama needs key factors bigger than hip-hop support to succeed in the upcoming election.
“Obama need swing states and white people not radical rappers kissing his ass to win this election..,’ he tweeted September 17th.
“If y’all stop bringing it to me I won’t answer and y’all can be happy with y’all way of thinking and I can be happy with mine.. #LeeMeAlone”
“I vote for Grace Lee Boggs….put her on the ballot and i’d finance the campaign my d*mn self @realdlhughley do u even know who she is???”
“Better yet @RealDLHughley you put up 50k and I’ll put up 50k and let’s flesh out some programs for rural & inner city youths our d*mn selves”

Last week, D.L. questioned Fiasco’s lack of interest in voting and the negative impact it could have on potential voters.
“He’s bright as h*ll, but dumb in the weight of the world,” Hughley said in an interview. “Young black men are going to listen to him. They are the ones who have decisions made for them, [decisions] that they are not even involved in, which is silly to me. You can’t go through life and not be a participant, and hope things work out for your benefit. When you vote or not vote, you are saying yes or no. … They want to raise the age of social security from 65 to 68 — black men die at 67. Lupe Fiasco forgets that he’s going to be an old man when he’s looking for a social security check, and he dies right before he gets it!”

Most of you clowns need to go do your own research. There was a time when voting mattered(before Blacks could vote). So why wouldn’t they flip things on us behind closed doors. Lupe & people like him piss me off.. they always try to rally people to do more for the community and complain about every thing WRONG that’s going on but fail to understand that they are a part of the problem by NOT voting…sure all politicians lie, cheat & steal in some capacity but its better to have someone in office that will do SOME good for the MAJORITY than risk having someone placed in office hat will WORSEN conditions for eveyone but the very few….if Lupe feels the current candidates aren’t WORTHY of his vote, why doesn’t he hit the campaign trail himself OR better yet throw MAJOR support behind one that he feels will do a better job (i.e. Grace Lee Boggs) instead of idly talking abt doing so??!! grrrrrr idiot
Hmm, how about letting a person be real, and speak their true feelings. Most people are so phony and politically correct that its become a joke of a society that brags free speech then stones those who speak freely. There are dead people’s social security numbers popping up registering to vote and you believe the scales cant be tipped in favor of whomever the machine deems fit? Do we forget the Florida ‘miscount’? and even further, do we really think there is that much of a difference between political parties when 100 years ago they were completely opposite of what they are now?
Everyone has their own paths and choices to make, ‘freedoms’ if you want to call them that, but judgmental people hardly put their money where their mouths are. Wouldn’t it have been more productive of DL Hughley to simply LIVE what he is preaching? Why before he wants to bash Lupe did we not hear about him rallying “young black men” and young men of all ethnic backgrounds to vote? Hey, in another life he may have, in his demonstrations, changed Lupe’s mind.. live and let live and stop trying to get back in the limelight by initiating conflict with those that are in it presently. preaching righteousness showing ratchetness. It is the result of radical GOP ‘election protection’ measures. The GOP is flooding all of their people on the voting rolls while making Democrat check for ID. Even CNBC Mad Money host, Jim Kramer’s 90-year-old father was forced to get extra ID in order to vote in Pennsylvania. What DL Hughley and others are criticizing is when fake radicals like Lupe and Toure get made for getting checked.
