Kim Kardashian was left red faced after the Duchess of Cambridge returned gifted items from the Kardashian Kollection.

Kate Middleton has returned clothes sent to her by Kim Kardashian after the London launch of the Kardashian Kollection, according to reports.

It’s thought the Duchess of Cambridge, who is more accustomed to designs by Alice Temperley and Alexander McQueen, sent back the gifted items to high street store Dorothy Perkins, after the famous family’s visit to the capital last week.

It’s thought Kim Kardashian sent Kate Middleton several pieces from the new collection, which ranges from £35 to £50 in price.

‘While she was in London last week, Kim had several free dresses from her Kardashian Kollection sent to Princess Kate,’ one source revealed.

‘She hoped Kate might be seen wearing one of the designs out in public, which would give their fashion credentials a huge boost.

‘The Kardashians want to be as big in the UK as they are in America, and think associating themselves with the royals, especially Kate, will help them achieve that.’

But on receiving the gifts, sources say the Duchess of Cambridgehad aides package up the parcels and send them straight back.

‘Kate is hardly going to turn up for an event with the Queen in a cheap leopard-print miniskirt or gold sequinned jacket,’ the source added.

The news must have come as a blow to the Kardashian sisters, who told us when we met up to talk about their foray into fashion, that they very much hoped to see Kate in one of their new designs.

‘Kate seems like a really sweet person and she’s a princess,’ Kim revealed to Marie Claire. ‘We love her sense of fashion. She could wear our looks and team it with one of her hats.’
