The plot for “After Earth” is fairly straightforward. Teenager Kitai Raige (Jaden Smith) and his father Cypher (Will Smith) and son (Jaden Smith) crash land on Earth. Not a familiar Earth, but one that has been abandoned by humans for a 1,000 years and is considered a quarantined planet. With Cypher critically injured, Kitai must undertake a dangerous journey to signal for help. Along the way, he will face many dangers, including the terrain and animal species that have evolved to kill humans.
