Atlanta rapper Shawty Lo may want the new year to get here soon as reports now claim there is a petition to stop his upcoming “All My Babies’ Mamas” reality television series from premiering in 2013.

A New York woman named Sabrina Lamb has taken to Change.org to gather up signatures in hopes of stopping the show from premiering.
Petitioning Oxygen Media, Electus and DiGa Vision Oxygen Media, Electus and DiGa Vision: Cancel Shawty-Low show and all programming which demeans black children, girls/women and stereotypes black men!!! These companies profit by humiliating girls and women by promoting degrading images. They have gone too far and we are boycotting their advertisers. (Change)
In the petition, directed toward Oxygen Media, Lamb points out the negative impact the series could have toward women in local communities.
“Cancel Shawty-Low show and all programming which demeans girls and women!!! Our Children…our Community… Deserves Better. Ban This Poison. Ban This Television Show. Oxygen Television Network is prepared to broadcast a one hour special celebrating the dysfunction of rapper Shawty Lo…watched by his 11 children…by 10 different women…(some may have been underage) as they….argue, beg, fight for emotional, financial support and sexual reward. What is the difference between this ministrel show and the others which clog the airwaves without proper balance of the beauty and positive aspects of our community?? The children.” (Petition)
She furthermore vows to take her actions to the next level by going after the show’s advertisers if nothing changes.
“The children are front and center. Pining and witnessing their parents’ behavior. And it is their children who will hold all of us accountable by allowing them to be exploited internationally in this manner. What You Can Do? Join Rap Rehap, Black Men In America and other influential individuals by signing this petition and forward to your friends. Contact has already been made with the network…and with your voice…this ugliness will not see international airwaves. If our DEMANDS to cancel the airing of this POISON are not met…an international boycott will be launched against their ADVERTISERS. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!” (Petition)

Oxygen Media has ordered what they’re describing as a “daring” (according to their press release) new 1-Hour special titled All My Babies’ Mamas, which will premiere next spring. The project will center on the complicated lives of one man, his many women, and their many children. Further… the series which comes from creative duo Liz Gateley and Tony DiSanto of DiGa Vision…… will capture the highs and lows of this extreme ‘blended family’ that is anything but ordinary, while also showing the drama and the passion behind life’s most unexpected situations.
