Lupe Fiasco has been pretty vocal on his political views, expressing disappointment in Barack Obama’s administration so I’m not sure why it comes to any surprise that when he was booked to perform at an Inauguration event he would be some type of liability.
Essentially the timeline went as followed. Lupe Fiasco was booked to perform at the Hamilton Live in DC for the Inauguration festivities. Some are saying this was a FOX News event, I can’t say for sure. Sources say Lupe Fiasco played 1 anti-war song for 30 minutes, refusing to move on to the next song. That’s when he went on his anti-Obama rant and was eventually removed from the stage by security.
Earth to Lupe – no one, and I mean NO ONE wants to hear you go on an anti-Obama rant at an inauguration party. NO ONE! Secondly, no one, and I do mean NO ONE, wants to hear you run back your music for 30 minutes. The blame has to be placed on whoever booked who they thought the token political black guy was, because they missed the mark on this one. Then you have to blame Lupe for not doing what he was paid to do, perform.

This is EbenGfegory.com…telling you my take away from the story is the freedom of speech gives you the right to speak, or otherwise communicate, one’s opinion without fear of harm or prosecution. It does not protect you from being kicked off a stage at a Presidential inauguration party after saying negative things about the President, and refusing to play another song after 30 minutes.

Whoever booked him for this event needs to be fired for not doing their homework. I like lupe I dont share his feelings on the president but he has a lot to say, but somebody dropped the ball. Thats like inviting peta to the players ball lmao!!!!
