Kanye’s ex-girlfriend Brooke Crittendon has stepped up to speak on the hip-hop star’s publicized romance with Kim Kardashian and their baby on the way.
“For Kanye, what other person besides Kim Kardashian is there? There’s Halle Berry, J-Lo and Beyonce but they are all taken. She fits into his brand. Part of being untouchable is having what other people want. It’s about saying, ‘Everybody wants her and she wants me’. That makes sense in Kanye’s world. I know he has had a thing with her for a while. I’m sure he watched her tape. After we broke up, we caught up as friends and he mentioned her, I knew something was there. In Hollywood, you cannot say ‘forever’. Them being together satisfies them for now. Having a baby ticks a box. She wanted kids and it’s his legacy.” (The Sun)
Brooke also narrowed in on Ye’s life behind closed doors and his admiration for rap mogul Jay-Z.
Brooke added: “He definitely had an appreciation for the feminine form and a curiosity. As a celebrity, sex becomes cheap but his obsession with sex was more sophisticated.” Kanye got back with his ex, fashion designer Alexis Phifer, shortly after he broke up with Brooke. The pair became engaged before splitting again in 2008. Then in April last year he began dating Kim and last month he announced they were expecting their first child. Brooke thinks his decision to settle down was inspired by his desire to be like his mentor Jay-Z. She explained: “He admires Jay-Z and they are very close. Over the years Jay has been a role model to him. “Whether it is starting to be more mature, taking chances with clothes or getting married and starting a family, ultimately he takes those cues from Jay.” (The Sun)

Jealous ass chicks–and men, too, honestly–need to stop calling Kim Kardashian a ho. It takes two to tango, and if you’re a dude who’s reading this, you would probably tap that, given the opportunity, though it would NEVER come your way. I’m happy for Kim and Kanye, and I actually like Kim Kardashian. It’s pathetic to me that sad, angry, envious women, especially Black women (and I am a Black woman who doesn’t “hate”–such an overused term, but applicable here–on ANYbody) have an obsession with tearing down other women. Last time I checked Kanye likes as much attention as the next celebrity and has had his fair share of public, hypersexualized relationships and scrutiny, so get over it. They’re happy, if only for the present. Which is a lot more than I can say for their critics, who probably don’t have anything worty poppin’ off at all. SMH.

So she’s immoral because she likes sex? What makes CHOOSING to have sex with as many people you like immoral? She’s not murdering or stealing. She’s engaging in physical pleasure. She filmed it once. So what? If you don’t like her or him, you don’t have to engage in ANY content about them. The internet gives you that choice. What makes a person worthless? She’s worth a lot to him. She’s worth a lot financially. She may be worthless to you, but you don’t know her at all other than the person she portrays on TV. You act as if you’re morally superior to her in some way. If so, do tell, and cast the first stone.
