A boxing website has obtained a copy of a letter sent to Floyd Mayweather on July 24, 2012 while he was incarcerated from his business associate Tommy Summers that seems to show that he was trying to convince his friend to join him and 50 Cent in their new The Money Team (TMT) Promotions venture. Not sure how this surfaced since in the letter Summers asks Mayweather to tear it up after reading, but in the letter he encourages the boxing champ to split from long-time adviser Al Haymon because he did an underhanded deal and join the new venture so he can rake in over $100 million a fight.

“Win or lose, I’ll take 45%,” Pacquiao told his publicist Friday in Mexico City. “Floyd can have top billing, he can be introduced in the ring first or last.

“He can wear my trunks. I don’t care. I just want to get him in the ring and make the fight.”

Pacquiao first said during an ESPN appearance Thursday that he was willing to take the 45% cut.

Pacquiao’s advisor, Michael Koncz, tried to clarify to The Times on Friday that the boxer was willing to accept a deal in which the winner would receive 55% and the loser gets 45%. That’s the same deal Koncz was extending to Mayweather in the spring.

Yet Pacquiao told publicist Fred Sternburg on Friday that he would take the flat 45% purse regardless of the outcome. Pacquiao has previously said he’d also submit to drug testing up to “the day of the fight.”

“I don’t know what more he can do,” Sternburg said, as Pacquiao and his Dec. 8 opponent Juan Manuel Marquez appeared before an estimated crowd of 20,000 in Mexico to promote their fourth fight Dec. 8 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

In his Monday appearance in Beverly Hills, Pacquiao said he was more confident than ever that a Mayweather deal can be struck in 2013.

“I hope that the fight with Mayweather will be close, to give the fans the fight they want,” Pacquiao said.

When pressed why he felt so confident, Pacquiao just grinned and said, “It’s hard to say,” with Koncz then interrupting to say, “Secret.”

Part of it could be the Pacquiao camp’s hope that striking a co-promotion deal with Mayweather’s associate, rapper 50 Cent, could inspire goodwill that leads to finally finding agreement in a negotiation that has failed in the past over drug testing, purse splits and personal issues.

50 Cent has worked to establish a fight promotion company named after Mayweather’s own title for his entourage, the Money Team.

Pacquiao promoter Bob Arum has also praised 50 Cent’s business sense and personality, part of that being the wishful thinking that the rapper would assert more influence on Mayweather than Arum’s rival promoter, Richard Schaefer of Golden Boy, and longtime nemesis Al Haymon, Mayweather’s manager.

“You can speak to 50 in a reasonable way, and he talks back without the insults of calling me a nasty old man,” said Arum, a reference to Schaefer’s recent dig in The Times.

Schaefer has expressed confidence Mayweather will continue to retain Golden Boy for some promotional work. They’ve worked together on every fight since Mayweather defeated Oscar De La Hoya by split-decision in 2007 – the most lucrative fight in history.

Additionally, it’s unclear how tight the friendship of Mayweather and 50 Cent is at the moment. Attempts to reach Mayweather and his advisor Leonard Ellerbe have been unsuccessful.

Pacquiao sued Floyd Mayweather Jr for accusing him of being a cheater by using performance-enhancing drugs when he fights.

“Accusing an athelete of using performance-enhancing drugs – however baseless and lacking evidence – is toxic,” the lawsuit stated.

Mayweather was scheduled to sit for a testimony between June and October last year but never showed up putting it down to being busy training while instead he was photographed out clubbing.

It has clearly not been a good week for the champion boxer after police were called to his house earlier this week after he was caught up in a “verbal altercation” with his baby mam, Melissa Brim.

While best friend 50 Cent boasted of his new business venture, tweeting a picture of himself and Manny Pacquaio with the caption, “Big business moves.”

The judge in favor of Pacquiao has ordered the 35-year-old middleweight to pay Pacquiao’s court and attorney fees by Monday.

According to reports the mother of Floyd’s daughter, Melissa Brim, called 911 at 2am last week to report that she had been in a verbal altercation with Floyd Mayweather and that he’d taken her cell phone and fled.

The home where call originated is owned by Floyd.

By the time police arrived Melissa’s phone had been returned by one of Floyd’s associates and she declined to press charges.

This is not the first time Floyd and Melissa have had to involve the cops in one of their disputes. Floyd pled guilty to two counts of domestic battery against Melissa in 2002.

It is not clear how this latest incident will effect Floyd’s probation.

50 Cent has insinuated that Mayweather has joined TMT Promotions on Twitter by posting that Oscar De La Hoya “won’t be promoting Floyd” in the future. However, Mayweather is still considered a part of Golden Boy Promotions at this point. Billy Dib has already joined TMT Promotions while Andre Berto and Zab Judah have also been rumored to have signed contracts. Signing Floyd Mayweather Jr. could be the key to the new promoter’s success, but he’s (Floyd) been silent on his next move.

In addition to not signing yet, there are whispers that 50 and Floyd’s fiance are a little to close for Floyd’s comfort.

ESPN is reporting that former five-time world champion Zab Judah and 50 are in the advanced stages of negotiations.

“I just left 50,” Judah told ESPN’s Dan Rafael. “He’s a very interesting person. I’ve spent a lot of time with him when he was in (Las) Vegas (where Judah lives). We’ve been friends. I’ve been knowing 50 for a long time. His brain for business is phenomenal. We met Monday and (Tuesday). When you’re doing big things it takes time. Anything that comes fast is not worth it. We’re planning on doing it big. I like what 50 brings to the table. It’s a great game plan. I think it will be a very good situation that will play out in boxing. It’ll be something new and fresh.”

Judah is a free agent now after his contract with Kathy Duva’s Main Events ran out. If things go according to plan his next bout will be a title fight. Either against IBF junior welterweight world champion, Lamont Peterson, who may be stripped of his title after a recent positive drug test. Or he could face undefeated Mike Alvarado (33-0, 23 KO) for the vacant IBF title.

Zudah sounded confident that either fight would take place under the TMT Promotions banner.

Mayweather, who made $85 million for two fights last year, is currently serving a three-month jail sentence in Las Vegas for domestic battery.

Boxer Manny Pacquiao is second on the magazine’s list at $62 million from earnings and endorsements. Pacquiao lost his WBO welterweight title to Timothy Bradley earlier this month.

Tiger Woods, No. 1 on the list since 2001, made $59.4 million to place third.

LeBron James of the Miami Heat is fourth ($53 million). He is one of 13 basketball players on the list.

Tennis star Roger Federer is fifth at $52.7 million.

Thirty football players made the top 100, with Peyton Manning tops among them at No. 10. The Denver Broncos’ new quarterback made $42.4 million during his last season with the Indianapolis Colts, even though he sat out the entire season while recovering from a neck injury.

While Fif did not get into many details, he made it clear Mayweather is not living the glamorous life behind bars.

The G-Unit CEO, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, also gave an update on his friend Floyd Mayweather, who is currently serving a three-month sentence for domestic battery of an ex-girlfriend in front of their two children. “He’s not doing good right now,” said 50. “He only been out seven hours since he been in there. They doin’ everything to make this difficult.” Right before Mayweather began his sentence last month, Fif told MTV News that the boxer has a deep connection with music. “Floyd has a huge passion for music that people don’t know about,” 50 explained. “It’s a big part of what makes him comfortable and takes his mind off of how hard he has to work to stay being the #1 fighter in the world.”

This week, Mayweather lost a bout to have his jail sentenced reduced to house arrest.

Mayweather’s legal team told the court this week that his personal physician, Dr. Robert Voy, visited the jail Friday and determined the fighter had lost muscle tone. Voy estimated Mayweather was consuming fewer than 800 calories a day instead of his usual 3,000 or 4,000 calories. Mayweather also wasn’t drinking enough because he wasn’t allowed bottled water and doesn’t enjoy tap water.

Mayweather made the statements in new legal papers … in which he begs the judge to release him from the Clark County Detention Center in Nevada and let him serve the remaining time in his 3-month sentence on house arrest. FYI — Floyd is currently locked up for beating his baby mama in front of their kids last year.

In the docs, Mayweather says he spends 23 hours-per-day locked in isolation for his own safety. But he claims the imprisonment is taking a “cruel and inhuman” toll on his rippling physique because he can’t train at a world class level while serving his time.

Mayweather claims his doctor is concerned about his “dehydrated appearance, his lack of muscle tone and his dry mucus membranes.”

Floyd says his doctor also “expressed deep concern for [Floyd's] health and explained that any lengthy period of time with an inappropriate diet, coupled with lack of regular exercise, will most likely lead to irreversible damage to Mr. Mayweather’s physique.”

Floyd’s doctor also told the court he’s concerned about Floyd’s diet … because he used to eat 3,000 to 4,000 calories per day … and now, the doc believes FM is eating less than 800.

In the papers, 35-year-old Floyd estimates he only has 2 years of boxing left in his career … so every day counts.

A hearing will be held on Floyd’s request on Thursday.

As inmate No. 1363917 at the Clark County jail in Las Vegas,Mayweather doesn’t have access to a television, computer or telephone in the small solo jail cell where on Friday he was beginning the second week of a three-month sentence in a domestic violence case.

He has been getting lots of mail since someone posted his inmate number and address on Twitter, Las Vegas police Officer Bill Cassellsaid. Jail mail is screened, and Cassell told The Associated Press that some photos to Mayweather have been confiscated as “inappropriate.”

“He’s gotten some mail and a couple of books. There has been some contraband that has been stopped,” Cassell said. He wouldn’t describe the photos in detail.
Mayweather’s lawyers in Las Vegas and his adviser, Leonard Ellerbe, didn’t immediately respond Friday to messages from the AP.

As a high-profile inmate, Mayweather is being kept separate from the other 3,200 inmates in the high-rise Clark County Detention Center, Cassell said.

“We don’t want to have an opportunity for someone who wants to make a name for himself to challenge him,” the police spokesman said.

Mayweather has been getting a little more than 30 minutes twice a day in a couple of barren recreation areas in the administrative segregation unit, Cassell said. His cell, no larger than 7-by-12 feet, has barely enough floor space for pushups and situps.

Mayweather surrendered June 1 in a Las Vegas courtroom to serve up to 87 days in the county jail for attacking his ex-girlfriend in September 2010 while two of their children watched.

Mayweather could be released sometime in August if he earns credits for good behavior and work time in jail, Cassell said.

Mayweather pleaded guilty in December to misdemeanor domestic battery and no contest to two harassment charges stemming from a 5 a.m. attack on Josie Harris, the mother of three of his children. Harris, who was 30 at the time, was treated at a hospital for minor facial injuries and a sore left arm.

The plea deal allowed Mayweather to avoid trial on felony charges that could have gotten him up to 34 years in prison if he was convicted. Prosecutors dropped felony robbery, coercion, and grand larceny charges stemming from allegations that he threatened his two sons and took two cellphones.

He is located in the protective custody unit, as he checked in around 11 a.m. last Friday, June 1st, and will remain isolated for at least a week or two before he is allowed to be around other inmates in the same unit.

The next 3 months of his life will consist of being confined to a small 7 by 14 or 6 by 10 jail cell, with nothing more than a bed, toilet, sink, and small desk in it. There is a window as well so that he can have some sunlight shed on him from time to time. As of right now, Mayweather will not be allowed any type of contact with any other inmate. He will be confined to his cell for most of the day, and only allowed out for his free time which is just one hour a day, while the rest of the inmates are on lock down.

Sounds like stressful living to say the very least. As long as he stays mentally strong, he’ll be alright.

Floyd turned himself in to a Vegas jail moments ago — where he’ll serve the remaining 87 days of his sentence. Floyd was given a 3-day credit for time served after his arrest. 50 Cent was present in court for support.

The judge praised the boxing legend for having already completed 45 hours of community service — 20 hours at Habitat for Humanity, 10 hours at a Nevada food bank called Three Square, and 15 hours at Las Vegas Rescue Mission. Floyd has 55 hours left to complete.

In addition, Floyd has already completed 21 of his 54 required domestic violence classes. While in jail, Floyd will be kept in protective custody, which means he will be kept from the general inmate population.

Floyd’s cell is 7′ x 14′ and contains a bed, toilet, sink and small desk. He also gets a WINDOW.

Floyd was supposed to surrender back in January, but the judge postponed his jail date so he could fight Miguel Cotto on May 5th. It was worth it … Floyd won … and the fight raked in $94 MILLION in pay-per-view sales. For himself, Floyd earned a reported $32 million … at least.

Floyd pled guilty to misdemeanor domestic violence back in December for beating up his baby mama in front of their kids.

His next status conference is on November 15th, when Floyd will have to show he’s continuing to fulfill his court-ordered obligations.

Freddie Roach just told TMZ Manny and promoter Bob Arum are in the Philippines, figuring out if they can put off several deals to fight other boxers … to clear the decks for a Mayweather fight in May.

Roach is scoffing at Mayweather’s tweet, in which he calls Pacquiao a “punk,” saying, “He should look in the mirror. He’s been ducking us for 2 years.”

As for what weight class Pacquiao will fight Mayweather … Roach said 147 lbs — that’s the upper limit of welterweight.

Of course, even if Pacquiao can rearrange his schedule, both sides have to agree on a financial deal. Roach says, “We’ll do it on even terms.”

TMZ spoke with Keith Kizer — Executive Director of the Nevada State Athletic Commission — who tells us all fighters must apply for a license annually … but fighters with a conviction are sometimes required to plead their case to the commission in person.

Floyd was convicted of beating his baby mama last month … and Friday, he convinced the judge to delay his jail sentence so he could fight an unnamed opponent at the MGM Grand on May 5.

The next step is to apply for the license, but Kizer tells us it’s not uncommon for a fighter to begin the process just a few weeks before their first bout of the year. We’re told Floyd has been flagged for a face-to-face … if and when he applies.

“The commission looks at experience, integrity, character and skill to determine whether or not it’s appropriate to issue a license,” Kizer says.

And it ain’t a slam dunk either — the commission is known to REJECT applications … most famously denying Mike Tyson in 2002 after he was involved in a brawl at a NYC news conference.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. got hammered by a judge, who just sentenced him to serve 90 days in jail for beating up his baby mama in front of their kids.

Floyd was sentenced to 6 months in jail, but 3 months of that sentence was suspended. He also gets 3 days credit for time he has already served.

TMZ broke the story … the boxer was arrested in September 2010 — after his ex-girlfriend accused him of striking her “multiple times in the head with his fist” and then threatening to kill her.

Floyd struck a plea deal with prosecutors in the case — in which he pled guilty to misdemeanor domestic violence … in exchange for getting a pass on the felony battery charge.

Floyd also pled no contest to two misdemeanor harassment charges — after allegedly threatening to beat his kids too during the incident.

The judge was especially pissed that Mayweather struck his baby mama in front of their kids.

The judge also ordered Mayweather to complete 100 hours of community service and a 12-month domestic violence program. He was fined $2,500 … which to Floyd is like a poker hand.

The boxer must turn himself in on January 6, to begin serving his sentence.

Floyd talked about what he does to stay in shape after a fight, being able to relate to 50′s new book, Playground, because he was a bully himself in school and being ready to fight Manny Pacquiao.

“We’re looking for Pacquiao, we want Manny to take the test. We just wanna give the fans and the people around the world what they wanna see,” Floyd said before clarifying that he’s never accused the Filipino champ of taking performance enhancing drugs. “I never said Pacquiao was on anything. It’s just that it’s not natural for any athlete to come from 106 [pounds] all the way to 154 all natural and compete with the best fighters.”

After a commercial break, 50 Cent was introduced. The first question Rocsi asked was about his new braids. Fif explained that he grew them for a movie role where he plays a “1980s-era pimp.”

“Yeah, It’s for Frozen Ground. It’s for the movie, y’all wanna get a close up?” he asked before taking off his blue New York Yankees cap.

That conversation segued into what inspired the G-Unit boss to write Playground.

He explained that it stemmed from a conversation he had with his son, who knew someone that was being bullied in school. It brought back memories of what it was like for him growing up as an overweight kid who turned to bullying as a defense mechanism.

50 also discusses his Street King energy drink and his plans to feed a billion kids in need.

Boxing great, Floyd Mayweather Jr., recently bragged about cashing in $37,000 on a wager he made on a Chicago Bulls basketball game, but that cash may have to go to Uncle Sam.

According to The Detroit News, Mayweather has been hit with a $3.4 million tax bill from the IRS for income taxes from 2009, the year he came out of a year-long retirement to fight Juan Manuel Márquez, during which he reportedly earned $25 million.

The IRS filed the lien, which equals exactly $3,359,279, in late January with the Clark County Recorder in Nevada.

The boxer has had past problems with the IRS, this being the latest. Nearly three years ago, Mayweather was hit with a bull for $6.1 million in unpaid income taxes, and later negotiated a payment plan.

Mayweather and/or his camp have not commented on the new tax issue.

It all went down Sunday December 19 around 4 AM — when Floyd drove up to the main gate and the security guard asked him for ID.

That’s when Mayweather went ballistic — screaming, “Let me in my mother f**king house!!! You know who I am man … let me in my house!!!”

Mayweather continues, “Stop giving me a hard time … you don’t give Maloof a hard time … you don’t ask him for ID when he comes.”

During his tantrum — Floyd also references a prior incident with security in which the boxer was accused of battering one of the guards during a parking dispute … saying, “I had a problem here before when the security lied and said I touched him and I didn’t!”

Floyd eventually got out of the car, went into the guard shack and opened the gate himself.

The tape has been turned over to cops — and the footage may be used in the battery case to show Floyd has it in for the guards.
