According to reports, Jigga bought the whip as a graduation present for Diggs.

College graduation is a day to celebrate accomplishments and toast to the future. Some people may even get thoughtful gifts from friends and family. For former Notre Dame basketball player Skylar Diggins, graduation day will certainly be unforgettable. Diggins currently plays guard for the WNBA’s Tulsa Shock and graduated Sunday from Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business. Her agency, Jay-Z’s Roc Nation, surprised her with quite the gift. Diggins left her graduation ceremonies and was surprised in the parking lot with a brand new white Mercedes, complete with a red bow and a handwritten note from Jay himself. Diggins posted a collage of photos of the car on her Instagram account with the caption, “Got surprised with a new Mercedes! Thanks so much to Jay and @rocnation, and @dancyautogroup!” (NESN)

Diggins became an official Roc Nation Sports client in late April.

One of the most dominant basketball players in recent memory came out as gay Wednesday, casually mentioning the fact in an interview as if it were an afterthought. The news media and the sports world seemed to treat it as such, too, with little mention of the star’s sexuality showing up on social media or on message boards, and virtually no analysis of what the revelation meant for tolerance in society as a whole. At first glance, it seemed implausible. After all, players, fans, coaches and league executives had been waiting with bated breath for weeks, if not months and years, to see if an active team-sport athlete would come out. So how could this sort of revelation be treated with such nonchalance? (New York Times)

She also revealed why college athletes keep hush-hush on their sexual preferences.

New York Knicks guard JR Smith has received a ton of criticism for his playoff performance, and rumors started sprouting that he was out partying with Rihanna all night in an NYC club, which was what contributed to his off-game on the court. Pictures actually surfaced of JR sweating while partying in the club with Rihanna just a few feet away from him.

Rihanna has since thrown some major shade at JR on Instagram while responding to a hater. She called JR “thirsty” and claimed that “he f*ckin up cus his a*s be hungover from clubbing every night during playoffs.” Fans have taken this and spun the clubbing rumors out of control.

Well, after a while it’s only natural to get highly annoyed with fans repeatedly hitting you up complaining that your sub-par performance is a result of partying with Rihanna. For Kanye West, presentation is everything and on Friday night (May 17), rap’s reigning mad scientist conjured up a revolutionary way to premiere his “New Slaves” music video.

Instead of YouTube or MTV, Yeezy projected his latest clip on the sides of buildings in 66 locations around the world, giving fans little forewarning before the first premiere. He posted the viewing times and locations on his KanyeWest.com site and about 100 fans answered the call and gathered on the corner of 14th Street and 10th Avenue in New York City’s Meatpacking District as many as 30 minutes before the scheduled 11:45 p.m. showing. The truck that drove around the city projecting the vid was an hour late, but the delay didn’t seem to matter much to the dedicated flock who gasped as the stark black and white image of their rap hero shot up on a matte black wall.

“My mama was raised in the era when/ Clean water was only served to the fairer skin/ Threw on clothes, you would’ve thought I had help/ But they wasn’t satisfied unless I picked the cotton myself,” ‘Ye spit, setting the tone.

From the video’s first few moments it was clear that this was something different, even for a rapper who has made a career off of wearing pink polos and singing an entire album in auto-tune. At the same time there was something familiar as Kanye challenged materialistic habits and racial stereotypes like he did on his 2005 single “All Falls Down.”

“What you want a Bentley, fur coat, a diamond chain/ All you blacks want all the same things,” he rhymed, making for an uncomfortable, but necessary listen.

The visual was equally dislodging as West rhymes with a piercing look in his eye addressing each individual listener, but without ever really being there. He shouts out “new slaves” before staring silently as the thumping beat played.

When the almost four-minute presentation was over, the crowd stood strangely quiet for a moment before they realized that it was OK to cheer their revolutionary rap hero.

The Boricua pop star, who took a majority stake in the company last year, was officially appointed chief creative officer of the channel, which reaches an estimated 31 million homes nationwide.

During the 2013 NuvoTV upfront at the Edison Ballroom in NYC yesterday, Lopez dished about her new gig and how she is preparing for the re-launch of the network’s programming in July. Kanye’s soon-to-be-released yet untitled record, which is expected to drop on June 18, will be “launching a worldwide tour later this fall, early next year. Kim is giving birth in July, and the baby will only be a few months old when Kanye goes out on the road,” a source close to the family exclusively told Radar.

“Needless to say, Kim is very unhappy that Kanye won’t be around as much because of his work. Even if she flew on a private jet with the baby to see Kanye, it would be impossible for mother and baby to be on the road with him. Kim wants to breast feed for at least the first six months. The baby needs to be on a schedule, and that is hard when crossing time lines.”

Complicating matters, Kim will be required to be in Los Angeles this winter to shoot Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

Late last week the IRS confirmed that it targeted GOP members, and Tea Party groups looking to receive tax exemptions. Employees in the agency paid special attention to collectives using keywords to identify conservatives.

In addressing the incident, Obama responded to sentiments of those upset about the news. “Americans have a right to be angry about it, and I’m angry about it,” he said. “It should not matter what political stripe you’re from. The fact of the matter is the IRS has to operate with absolute integrity.

“I’ll do everything in my power to make sure it never happens again,” he added.

The president’s stern words are less aggressive than a statement released by the White House Monday (May 13). “The fact of the matter is what we know about this is of concern,” press secretary Jay Carney said. “We certainly find the actions taken, as reported, to be inappropriate.”

While Republicans are in an uproar, the IRS has long been partaking in suspect activity.

Here are the genuine scandals in this affair: Political organizations are being allowed to masquerade as charities to avoid taxes and keep their donors secret, and the IRS has allowed them to do this for years.

The bottom line first: The IRS hasn’t done nearly enough over the years to rein in the subversion of the tax law by political groups claiming a tax exemption that is not legally permitted for campaign activity. Nor has it enforced rules requiring that donors to those groups pay gift tax on their donations.

The organizations at issue are known as 501(c)4 groups (call them C4s for short) after the section of the tax code that applies to them. They’re nonprofit “social welfare” organizations that by law must be devoted primarily to programs broadly serving their communities, not private groups. IRS forms reveal what the agency considers to be mainstream C4s: religious groups; cultural, educational and veterans organizations, homeowners associations, volunteer fire departments. In recent years, however, overtly political groups have been claiming C4 status, which allows them to keep their donor lists secret and to avoid paying taxes on certain income.

Our lunatic campaign finance system is what turned the typical C4 from a volunteer fire department into a conduit of anonymous political cash. Big donors were given the green light to spend freely on elections by the Supreme Court’s 2010 Citizens United decision. That wasn’t good enough for some; they wanted to distribute their largess secretly.

Miller was not running the IRS at the time of the political scrutiny, most of which occurred in the agency’s Cincinnati office. He was however potentially involved in a coverup. Like special division leader Lois Lerner, Miller was briefed on the occurrence roughly a year before it was made public.

During a probation revocation hearing on Wednesday, prosecutors claim the 28-year-old rapper switched his urine during a drug screening. The drug testing is required under the conditions of Scrappy’s probation from marijuana and gun procession charges in 2008.

DeKalb County Superior Court Judge Daniel Coursey decided to reschedule another hearing for next Wednesday so that Scrappy’s urine sample could be processed.

Scrappy turned himself in to police last month after his parole officer alleged he provided a drug sample that was cold to the touch, meaning it may have been old urine or someone else’s. Officials claim he was asked to give another test, but he refused. Scrappy was released from jail on April 24th.

Scrappy gave his side of the story in an interview with Streetz 94.5.

“They didn’t even test the pee,” Scrappy told host Rashan Ali. “I said, ‘you can check me or whatever you gotta do.’ He didn’t wanna check me. He got a little hostile with his voice, and I ain’t feena let nobody put they paws on me.”

Boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. is the highest-earning athlete in American sports for the second consecutive year.

Sports Illustrated announced their annual Fortunate 50 list on Wednesday, which ranks the highest-earning professional athletes in America.  Mayweather’s expected earnings of $90 million for 2013 put him at the top of the list again.

Earnings of $85 million earned Floyd the top spot in the 2012 Fortunate 50 list. Mayweather’s recent six-fight, 30-month deal with Showtime kept him there for 2013. The deal, which he signed in February, guarantees the 36-year-old at least $32 million per fight and is one of the most lucrative deals ever for an athlete.

LeBron James came in second-place with $56.5 million. He became the first team-sport player to make the top two since Shaquille O’Neal did it in 2004. James’ endorsements, worth $39 million, were more than any other athlete’s in 2013.

NFL quarterback Drew Brees’ $37 million signing bonus helped him go from not even making the list in 2012 to No. 3 this year.

Los Angeles Lakers’ Kobe Bryant, who is entering the last year of his contract, cracked the top five at No. 4. His expected earnings of $46.8 million make him the second-highest earning NBA player.

Tiger Woods, who had the top spot on the list from 2004-11, fell to No. 5 with $40.8 million. Golfer Phil Mickelson followed at the No. 5 spot with $39.5 million.

Well would ya looky here. Momma Dee must be over the moon. Scrappy and his “best friend” Shay were spotted being “friendly” at Monday night’s “Project 13, The Thirteenth Day of Change,” event in Atlanta. Scrap’s ex-fiancée Erica Dixon was also at the event, but she didn’t stay long.

According to BOSSIP sources, Shay Johnson and Scrappy tried to be slick by showing up in separate cars, then doing the red carpet separately. Our eyes inside the event say Erica and her entourage avoided Shay at all times, to the point where members of the press started discussing how she wouldn’t interview or take pictures with anyone.

Our source says Scrappy played the part of a gentleman and waited for Erica to do her rounds before walking the carpet. Interestingly enough, Shay was waiting at the end of the red carpet and the pair were all smiles for the rest of the event, and at one point the two took a moment for themselves in the corner for some alone time.

According to reports, the music moguls’ enormous donation is to help create a new institute at the University of Southern California.

The huge gift from the two who have been music business partners in the past will be used to create the Jimmy Iovine and Andre Young Academy for Arts, Technology and the Business of Innovation. The academy will provide a special four-year program for undergraduates whose interests span several fields from marketing to computer science to visual design and other arts. It will include one-on-one faculty mentoring with professors from programs around the university and interaction with entertainment industry luminaries. (Fox News)

The university’s president has released an official statement on receiving their unexpected gift.

“The vision and generosity of Jimmy Iovine and Andre Young will profoundly influence the way all of us perceive and experience artistic media,” USC President C. L. Max Nikias said in a statement. “We are committed to encouraging our students to use their intellectual and creative resources to effect change in all segments of society. Model Michael Girgenti has long claimed that he, not Scott Disick, is the true father of Kourtney Kardashian‘s son Mason — and he tells Star magazine that he wrote Kourtney a letter demanding that she get a DNA test for the toddler — or he’ll sue.

“This is Kourtney’s last chance,” Michael told the magazine in their latest issue.

“My next step will be to take her to court and sue her for a paternity test. I’m tired of not knowing if Mason is my child, and I want the constant wondering to end.”

Michael shared an exclusive copy of the letter he wrote to Kourtney which states, “My attentions [sic] are not to hurt the family you’ve created with Scott [Disick]. But at the same time, Mason deserves to know the truth.”

That truth, Michael claims, is that Mason was conceived when he and Kourtney had unprotected sex in Miami in March 2009, when she was on a break from Scott.

However, Kourtney denied Michael’s claims back in 2009 when Mason was born and she and Scott eventually got back together.

Michael says he never heard from her again.

“I tried to contact Kourtney via BlackBerry Messenger, with no response,” he revealed. “I also made an attempt to reach her through the media, with no luck, but kept thinking that eventually the truth would come out.”

Malcolm Shabazz went to the Palace Club with a friend last week and they disputed their $1,200 tab around 3am. During the argument, Shabazz and his friend were separated, but only Shabazz was beaten, allegedly by four bar employees. His friend says he was robbed, but was able to flee and call for help. The two suspects arrested, David Hernández Cruz and Manuel Alejandro Pérez de Jesús, are waiters at the bar, the New York Times reports.

The other two suspects are still being sought. Shabazz, whose blood alcohol level was more than three times the typical American legal limit for driving, was beaten with a blunt instrument and left with fatal skull, jaw, and rib fractures. He and his friend had been invited to the bar by two women on the street, and Mexican newspapers claim the bar is a brothel and that bars in that neighborhood charge customers who simply talk to female employees. The prosecutor says the bill was excessive, and that the employees were attempting to rob Shabazz and his friend.

President Obama is feeling the strain of the alleged massive White House cover up of the attack on the U.S. embassy in Benghazi. Tears streamed down Obama’s face as he struggled to answer questions about the cover up which could lead to impeachment proceedings against him.

Last week, news broke that the IRS intentionally targeted conservative nonprofit groups that had the words “tea party” in their names.

Two separate committees — Oversight and Government Reform, and Ways and Means are probing whether the IRS (under Obama’s orders) intentionally denied applications for nonprofit status to groups that had “tea party” in their names before the 2012 presidential election. The IRS acting director’s resignation is expected on Obama’s desk this week.

Another scandal that rocked the White House came when the Associated Press reported that the White House subpoenaed personal phone records of 50 AP reporters and their sources — an egregious violation of journalistic rights to privacy.

Currently there are five separate committee investigations underway on Capitol Hill — all investigating wrongdoing by the Obama administration.

Politico.com reports that “roughly one-third of House committees are engaged in investigating some aspect of the Obama administration.”

Dwayne Wade might want to look for another stylist after last night’s fashion disaster. The 6-4 Miami Heat player was filmed entering the building for game 4 against the Chicago Bulls rocking a polka dot suit with capri pants that looked way too tight and short.

TNT’s announcers started going in on Wade during the halftime show with Shaquille O’Neal started singing “Karma Chameleon.”

“The Miami Heat are officially the worst-dressed team in the NBA,” said Charles Barkley.

Wade told the New York Times in 2012 that his stylist picks out his clothes.

“When I travel, I will often have my clothes sent ahead of time. The clothes arrive with a memo from my stylist, Calyann Barnett, outlining which look is for which day. I might say no to a certain look a million times, but she keeps driving. It’s good to have that.”

Future seemingly has bigger fish to fry and Lil Wayne’s tour just wasn’t it. Now, there still are a bunch of rumors, including those pesky Ciara rumors. But, of all the ones that were sent to me, I’ve got the one I believe the most. I heard very simply from a source that an upcoming Drake tour offered more money than Lil Wayne. But, there is more to it than that. Apparently, Drake is working with Live Nation on his tour. Live Nation has a certain rule that you cannot book a show within 100 miles of their date. So, what I’m hearing Future is doing is booking smaller shows on his own between these bigger dates with Drake. There were come conflicts with the Lil Wayne dates, where he couldn’t book certain spots between tour dates. At first, I thought there may be some type of beef, but I don’t think that’s the case. I think its just a matter of mula. Anyway, Lil Wayne didn’t lose…he added 2 Chainz!

The 37-year-old actress made the announcement in an op-ed piece she wrote exclusively for today’s New York Times.

The Oscar-winning actress, who is in a long term relationship with actor Brad Pitt, said she underwent the double mastectomy after doctors found a gene that makes the probability of her developing breast cancer very high.

She said she made the choice with thoughts of her six children after watching her own mother, actress Marcheline Bertrand, die at a young age from cancer.

Quoting her 6 children, Jolie writes, “They have asked if the same could happen to me.”
Jolie wrote that finding the “faulty” BRCA1 gene meant she had an 87 percent chance of developing breast cancer herself.

“My mother fought cancer for almost a decade and died at 56,” Jolie writes. “She held out long enough to meet the first of her grandchildren and to hold them in her arms. But my other children will never have the chance to know her and experience how loving and gracious she was.”

She added:
“I wanted to write this to tell other women that the decision to have a mastectomy was not easy. But it is one I am very happy that I made. My chances of developing breast cancer have dropped from 87 percent to under 5 percent. I can tell my children that they don’t need to fear they will lose me to breast cancer.”

Jolie described the procedure as feeling like a scene out of a science fiction movie.

From The NY Times:

“My own process began on Feb. 2 with a procedure known as a ‘nipple delay,’” she writes, “which rules out disease in the breast ducts behind the nipple and draws extra blood flow to the area.”

She then describes the major surgery two weeks later where breast tissue was removed, saying it felt “like a scene out of a science-fiction film,” then writes that nine weeks later she had a third surgery to reconstruct the breasts and receive implants.”

Many women have chosen preventive mastectomy since genetic screening for breast cancer was developed, but the move and public announcement is unprecedented from a star so young and widely known as Jolie.

“I do not feel any less of a woman,” Jolie writes. “I feel empowered that I made a strong choice that in no way diminishes my femininity.”

In a new interview with The Sun, Will Smith reveals that his 14-year-old son and After Earth costar recently told him that he wants legal freedom and independence from him and Jada Pinkett so he can buy his own house and live alone – and RadarOnline.com has the details.

Will explains that Jaden, who will be celebrating his 15th birthday in July and is close pals with 19-year-old Justin Bieber, asked for a very unique gift.

“He says, ‘Dad, I want to be emancipated.’ I know if we do this, he can be an emancipated minor, because he really wants to have his own place, like ‘Ooh,’” Will explained.

“That’s the backlash. On the other side, if kids just want to have command of their lives, I understand.”

Will, who has two other children, Willow, 12, and Trey, 19, reveals he has a laid back approach to parenting and doesn’t believe in reprimanding his kids.

“We generally don’t believe in punishment,” he says. “From the time Jaden was five or six, we would sit him down, and all he has to do is be able to explain why what he did was the right thing for his life. I think it’s a much more difficult question to ask someone —’Why was that right?’ — than to try to show them why it was wrong.

“Nobody wants to be wrong, all parts of yourself fight like crazy to not be wrong. So I’ll say to Jaden, ‘Why was that the right thing to do for your life?’ and if he can explain why kicking his sister in the chest was the right thing to do, we can see to it that he understands that it wasn’t so smart.”

According to Kobe’s dad, Kobe gave his mother the memorabilia over the years, telling her, “Here mom, these are for you.” Kobe’s mom insists she never took anything from him without permission.

Even Kobe’s grandma has filed a declaration in support of Pamela.

Kobe’s sister Sharia Washington, on the other hand, filed a declaration claiming their mother has been conspiring to sell Kobe’s stuff for years … telling her the family could profit greatly from Kobe’s stardom.

As we reported, Kobe has countersued, claiming his mother stole the memorabilia from his house.

“I can’t touch my money. I can’t pay certain bills,” Dash said in a wide-ranging talk on Saturday. “But I’m still working every day. It’s not stopping me from hustling. I am an entrepreneur. I am real.”

Dash, 42, vowed to pay back more than $100,000 he owes on a sprawling mansion in suburban Putnam County.

He said he moved out at the end of March because he couldn’t take the frigid weather — but he also faces eviction, according to court documents he filed Tuesday.

“I’m in transition. I’ve been moving around on business,” he said. “It’s too cold to be upstate in the wintertime.”

The woman who said she rented out the luxurious Golf Ridge Road, Carmel, home to Dash said he left on amicable, but indebted, terms — $160,000 in back rent.

“He’s a nice person,” said Shlomit Schonberger. “He just doesn’t have money. He’s very talented and friendly. I hope he makes it.”
